Lola Denise Jefferson, BSN, RNC, CVRN is the 1st Vice President of the National Black Nurses Association(NBNA). Ms. Jefferson is the Founder & Executive Director of the Fort Bend County Black Nurses Association which was the largest chapter of the NBNA for 10 consecutive years. Ms. Jefferson has served in a supervisory role for over 15 years and is currently the House Supervisor at Cornerstone Hospital Medical Center. Ms. Jefferson maintains certifications in Cardiovascular Nursing, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Women’s Health. Ms. Jefferson has received several awards such as the YMCA of Greater Houston Minority Achievers Award, National Women of Achievement Galena Park / Houston Metroplex Award, Texas Nurses Association District 9 Nursing Celebration 20 Outstanding Nurses, Nurse of the Year for Community Service – National Black Nurses Association, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. Health Care Award, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital Award for Excellence, Outstanding Associate Member for Philippine National Association of Metropolitan Houston, and Certificates of Special Recognition from Councilman Chris Preston and Congressman Al Green for community service.
